My pulse races when the dean reads out my name. Hundreds of people start clapping when I make my first step towards the chancellor who is awaiting me. “Well done, Peter! Congratulations and all the best for the future!” Vicki Sara, the UTS chancellor, says. Flashlights everywhere… It is most definitely my highest and most honorable academic achievement: A Master of Arts in Journalism. What started in October 2008 in Hamburg, Germany, is now coming to an end on the other side of the world. Only two years, three student IDs, three flats and uncountable experiences later I can officially refer to myself as Master of Arts in Journalism. Damn that feels soooooo good!
